Can’t view and edit MP4 videos in Sony Movie Studio - Solution

You want to upload a MP4 files into Sony Movie Studio for editing. But you’ll be disappointed cause Sony Vegas Movie Studio won’t import the MP4 file. Well, this is a common problem encountered by many Sony Movie Studio users.

How to Convert MP4 video clips to Sony Vegas Pro

Step 1: Add MP4 videos > Install and launch the MP4 video converter, and then click “Add Files” button to import your H.264 .mp4 files to the software.

Tip: If you wanna combine MP4 video clips into one file, you can click the “Merge into one” box.



Step 2: Select output format > Click “Format” bar to determine output format. Follow “Adobe Premiere/Sony Vegas” and select “MPEG-2(*.mpg)” as the output format. Besides, you can also choose WMV (VC-1) (*.wmv) if you want to get a relatively smaller output file.



Tip: Click Settings icon, you can customize audio and video parameters Video Codec, bit rate, frame rate, Audio codec, sample rate, audio channels.

Step 3: Convert MP4 to Sony Movie Studio > Click the convert button under the preview window, the converter will start encoding MP4 clips for importing to Sony Vegas Movie Studio.

After the conversion is finished, just click “Open” button to get the converted MP4 files to Sony Vegas Movie Studio 13/12/11/10 for further editing perfectly.
