"Can anyone suggest a method for changing the native MP4 files associated with the BPAV folder that comes directly off the SxS card from the EX-1 to a FCP usable file that does not use the XDCam Transfer software?"

"Is there any new fangled converter that will allow me to simply convert the XD BPAV mp4 files to .mov files that FCP will recognize?"

Anatomy of a BPAV folder used by XDCAM EX

.MP4 files contain the footage. But this is not standard MP4 files, and Final Cut Pro including the lastest FCP X cannot read them.

So we need to change the file extentsion from ".mp4" to "a codec" that FCP can read more easily (without rendering basically). The codec is Apple ProRes, which ensures maximum editing quality and efficiency when working with Final Cut Pro. To convert BPAV MP4 files to ProRes MOV, Brorsoft Video Converter for Mac is an easy-to-use yet professional app to achieve your goal smoothly.

Overall, the BPAV MP4 to FCP Converter is free, clean and safe to install and use. And only with barely several mouse clicks, you can get the whole job done. Besides MP4, it can also transcode more video file formats like MTS, MXF, M4V, AVI, MKV to Final Cut Pro most compatible Apple ProRes .mov without any quality loss.
